Insights Lead (Consultant; GM in training)

About Tenacious Ventures Group

At Tenacious Ventures Group, our mission is to unlock climate impact at scale in agri-food systems.

We know that transforming the global food system requires more than just one kind of capital — and more than just one kind of company. That’s why we’ve deliberately built Tenacious as a multi-entity platform:

  • Tenacious Insights: delivering public thought leadership and strategic advisory work for corporates, government, and industry globally.
  • Tenacious Ventures Capital: managing over $50M (and growing) across two early-stage VC funds focused on agri-food tech startups that are strategic to Australia.
  • Tenacious Ventures Group: our shared-services backbone, enabling scalable, high-leverage operations across all parts of the business.

This structure lets us operate at the intersection of capital, innovation and adoption, and systems change, giving us the agility to support diverse founders, launch new financial tools, unlock adoption models, and scale impact — without scaling complexity.

We’re active contributors to the ecosystem — from helping found evokeAG and AusAgritech, to releasing 200+ podcast episodes and sharing insights with 20k+ people globally each month. Our platform gives us a unique view across capital, innovation, and adoption — and lets us turn ideas into real-world impact.

We’ve built Tenacious for the long game. We're here to back bold founders, catalyze systemic change, and accelerate the transition to a resilient, regenerative agri-food future.

About Tenacious Insights

Tenacious Insights is the strategic advisory arm of Tenacious Ventures Group. We work at the intersection of innovation, adoption, and systems change in agri-food — delivering projects for governments, corporates, industry bodies, and research partners.

Our work spans strategic roadmaps, adoption playbooks, ecosystem convenings, and commercialization models — often going beyond traditional consulting to help design and kickstart new initiatives, programs, or ventures. We’re known for translating across stakeholders, cutting through complexity, and telling clients not just what they want to hear, but what we believe they need to do.

As part of the Tenacious platform, our advisory work also generates insights and strategic leverage for our investment business. We take a hypothesis-driven, iterative approach to deliver impact that is practical, commercially grounded, and mission-aligned.

About the Role – Insights Lead (GM in training)

We’re looking for a delivery-first, commercially-minded operator/consultant to join our small, ambitious team and help lead Tenacious Insights through its next stage of growth.

This role is a mix of project delivery (60%) and business development (40%) in year one. You’ll start by leading the delivery of high-quality advisory work already in our pipeline, while providing leverage to our existing team, to secure additional work. By year two, you’ll be responsible for originating and closing your own strategic advisory projects and scaling the systems to support them. By year three, you could have business unit ownership and a team of capable advisors reporting to you.

This isn’t a pure consulting role. We’re looking for someone who wants to build a business, not just run projects — someone who brings sharp thinking, high execution standards, and a strong commercial lens.

What You’ll Be Doing

Project Delivery & Client Success
  • Lead the design and execution of advisory projects — from research and synthesis to stakeholder engagement and insight delivery
  • Facilitate workshops, develop presentations, and represent Tenacious with clients
  • Ensure all projects deliver strategic value for clients and reinforce Tenacious’s broader mission
Strategy & Commercial Execution
  • Contribute to business development — shaping proposals, meeting clients, and helping close deals
  • Strategic planning to grow our product/service mix, client focus, and geographic priorities aligned with Group strategy and synergies with our investment work
  • Within 12-18 months, lead the business unit across commercial strategy, owning a sales target, managing a team, and delivering mission-aligned work
  • Over the next 3-5 years, build and lead a multi-million dollar business unit
Systems & Scale
  • Develop playbooks, tools, and processes that make delivery more repeatable, scalable, and margin-positive
  • Track delivery and revenue metrics, and contribute to profitability goals
  • Identify and implement improvements across project execution, team efficiency, and productization

Who You Are

You’re a strategic doer who loves turning insight into action — and who gets energy from working across delivery, business development, and systems building. You want to build and lead a consulting business, and recognize that you can leverage the Tenacious brand to get there faster and with more impact.

You might have:

  • Worked in consulting, strategy, innovation, or advisory — with meaningful exposure to agri-food systems and technology commercialization and adoption
  • Experience delivering complex, multi-stakeholder projects with a commercial or systems lens
  • Built strong relationships with senior stakeholders — and shown commercial judgment in doing so

You are:

  • A strong communicator — clear, concise, and audience-aware
  • Comfortable with ambiguity, and quick to bring order and momentum
  • Energized by the idea of scaling something meaningful, and confident stepping into a bigger role over time
  • Commercially curious — you don’t need to be a “salesperson,” but you do need to be excited about identifying and closing aligned opportunities
  • Deadline-driven, self-directed, and detail-obsessed — you follow through and never “drop the ball”
  • A mission-aligned systems thinker who believes in the power of ideas and execution

Why Join Tenacious?

At Tenacious, you’ll get to:

  • Deliver meaningful work at the intersection of climate change, agri-food systems, and innovation & technology
  • Help shape and grow a business unit with real strategic value
  • Learn directly from senior leadership while building rapidly toward leadership yourself
  • Join a team that’s small but mighty – bold, gritty and committed to impact
  • Be part of a platform that’s redefining what it means to invest in and build the future of food and climate
